Sub Kooch Ho Sak-ee Dey! (Anything is possible with God)

This is a picture of two Dalit women. Who are Dalits? The term Dalit, means "broken people". The Dalits are the lowest caste system in India. The Caste system is a lie. I first heard about the Dalits when I listened to Share the Well, one of Caedmon's Call's recent cd's. Listening to the information in the music brought me to tears. These people are constantly being subjected to cruelty and malnutrition all because they are poor and do not own much property. They are definitely considered the "least of these". As I looked at this picture, I paid particular attention to the child. She will grow up into a life of poverty and constant rejection, all because of the caste system. These people are also considered the "untouchable and unworthy". We as Christians have a calling. We are to help those in need. We are Jesus' hands and feet. What are we doing to help others? Even if we cannot directly help, we can still pray for them. To learn more about how you can help with the dalits, you can visit www.dalitnetwork.org Or you can go to www.caedmonscall.com to see how Christian bands are helping these oppressed people. As Jesus says in Matthew 25:40, "...I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." What an amazing verse! We should always be willing to help those in need, just like Jesus!

Meet Max...
Max is our five year old, registered, blue Chihuahua. They're called blue when they're marked like he is but really he's black, tan and has a little white on his chest and feet. We adopted Max from the animal shelter. He had been brought in when he was about 7 months old. Someone had gotten him and decided that they didn't want him because he wet all over the place. Well, what do all puppies do? They have to be housebroken and apparently, this person didn't know enough about dogs to know how to housebreak him. Anyway, we got Max and immediately he became a member of our family. Sometimes I even feel like he's my little brother! He follows me everywhere! Max is so funny. We really love him a lot. We dress him up in cute little outfits and take his picture. Here he is in a little sweather that my Mom crocheted for him. We've also put him in a fireman outfit, in an Easter basket, dressed him as a reindeer for Christmas and even put a Hawaiian lei on him. He doesn't seem to mind, in fact, I think he likes it. Some chihuahuas aren't very friendly, but Max is very easy going and would probably lick you to death if he met you. It's really funny when Max and our cat Cleo get together and play. They're like best friends. You should see them! They chase each other around the house and have the best fun. Here's a picture of Cleo. We got Cleo from a friend of my sister's. She had had Cleo for several years and then when she had a little boy, the little boy was allergic to Cleo so they had to get rid of her. Max and Cleo are so loving. They always want to be on someone's lap. I hope you enjoy meeting my pets...they're lots of company for me. Isn't it great how much love animals give us and how they give it unconditionally? They teach us a lot about the love of Christ...he loves us unconditionally too.

Well, I've been poked by no_average_girl. So, I poked Sob' ah, Radical One, Berrymom2005, and christfollower2. If anyone I poked needs to know what to do, here goes. You have to list 5 weird things about yourself, and then poke 4 other people. Here goes:

1.) I like to dip my french fries in honey mustard. It really tastes good!

2.) I actually don't mind when I get injured in Karate. Sick, I know, but hey...it's all an experience to me! No pain, no gain, right?

3.) I love to read stories on fanfiction.net. It's really fun, and I especially love stories about movies and books.

4.) Sometimes I'd rather play with my 8 and 6-year old nephews than talk with people my own age.

5.) I love to quote movie lines all the time. My sister does it too, so sorry Chum, you can't write this on yours! It's not too weird, but I can't think of anything else. Oh well.
